Active Newspaper Membership
I am pleased that you are interested in applying for weekly membership for your newspaper with the Minnesota Newspaper Association.
The procedure to apply for membership is:
• Write a letter to the Board of Directors, giving details about your paper (when you started, circulation, trade area, etc.), as well as filling out an application form.
• Send a copy of the letter, along with three recent issues of your paper to each Board member.
• Send a copy of the letter and a rate card, as well as three issues, to Lisa Hills at MNA, 12 South Sixth Street, Suite 1120, Minneapolis, MN 55402.
Dues for 2010 are based on your column inch advertising rate. Dues for a weekly with less than 3,000 circulation are 106 times column inch rate. A weekly with circulation over 3,000 is 131 times column inch rate. The minimum is $300, maximum of $1,700 for both. You may contact MNA Accounting Department for the amount of your dues.
Your dues include sending four copies of every issue of your paper to our office which we use for advertising tearsheets and for the clipping service.
The Board meets during the year in April, June, October, and December at which time they will consider your application.
